The First Ukrainian-American Strategic Lobbying and Advocacy Company: A New Standard for Transparent Lobbying in Ukraine

A new culture of lobbying is taking shape in Ukraine—one that is transparent, regulated, and aligned with international practices. The team at The First Ukrainian-American Strategic Lobbying and Advocacy Company positions itself as the first international company in Ukraine to operate according to fully adapted standards developed by the relevant regulatory body—the National Association of Lobbyists of Ukraine.

The company’s key operating principle is a complete rejection of informal influence, “gray areas,” and non-transparent practices. Interaction with government agencies is conducted exclusively within the framework of the procedures and roadmaps recommended by the regulator.

Over the past year, the team has been working systematically to develop practical tools for the market. In particular, two separate roadmaps for collaboration were developed:
— between lobbyists and members of the Ukrainian Parliament;
— between lobbyists and representatives of local governments.

The need for such tools arose due to a de facto communication gap: on the one hand, there were demands from businesses and professional lobbyists; on the other, there was caution and a lack of understanding of the processes on the part of government officials.

“We’ve found that even among members of parliament, there is wariness about interacting with lobbyists. This means that the market needs not only regulation but also a systematic explanation of the rules of the game,” the company notes.

The roadmaps that were developed were presented to the public, discussed at press conferences, and officially sent to all members of the Ukrainian Parliament. This lays the foundation for unified, transparent, and secure interaction between the business community and the government.

In this way, the company is setting a new standard—one that is institutional, transparent, and aligned with international advocacy and GR practices.
