Legality, Transparency, and Accountability: The Basic Principles of Lobbying According to International Standards
The First Ukrainian-American Strategic Lobbying and Advocacy Company operates on the basis of three fundamental principles: legality, transparency, and accountability. The company emphasizes that these approaches should serve as the foundation for the entire lobbying sector, but they take on particular significance in the context of international activities.
As the first Ukrainian-American lobbying firm, we are committed to complying with international standards and practices. This allows us to provide our foreign clients with a transparent operating environment in Ukraine and ensure a high level of trust in our advocacy processes.
We also emphasize the importance of a clear division of responsibilities in the process of advancing legislative initiatives. If a lobbyist acts professionally, officially, and transparently, their role is to prepare and support the initiative. At the same time, further consideration and decision-making fall within the purview of the legislative bodies.
The fact that a bill makes it to the floor of the legislature can be seen as an indicator of a lobbyist’s effectiveness, but it does not determine the final outcome, which depends on the political and legislative process.
Thus, the development of a civilized lobbying market in Ukraine is possible only if international standards are followed and there is a clear division of roles among all participants in the process.
